Be sure to test and see if you already have a streaming video program installed.

Windows 95, Windows NT 4.0 Users
You will be installing Windows Media Player 6.4, the most current version of Windows Media Player for users with Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0.
Recommended System Requirements
- Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 3
- Pentium 120 MHz processor or faster
- 32 Megabytes of RAM or more
- 256-color display card or better
- 56k modem, DSL, or cable modem
- 16-bit sound card and speakers
Installation
- Visit the Windows Media Player 6.4 download site.
- Click on the "Download Now" button.
- If you are using Internet Explorer...
- A "File Download" box will appear.
- click on the "Save" button.
- Using the "Save in" selector, pick your hard drive ("C:") by clicking on it.
- Then double-click on a temporary directory, like "Temp", to select it.
- Click on the "Save" button and wait for the software to download.
- Click on the "Open" button when the software is done downloading.
- If you are using Netscape...
- A "Save As..." box will appear.
- Using the "Save in" selector, pick your hard drive ("C:") by clicking on it.
- Then double-click on a temporary directory, like "Temp", to select it.
- Click on the "Save" button and wait for the software to download.
- When the software is done downloading, click the "Start" button on your Windows Taskbar.
- Click the "Run" button.
- Click the "Browse" button.
- Using the "Look in" selector, pick your hard drive ("C:") by clicking on it.
- Then double-click on the temporary directory you saved to (such as "Temp") to select it.
- Double-click on the "mpfull.exe" file.
- click on the "OK" button.
- A Windows Media Player Setup box will appear. Click the "Yes" button.
- "Please read the following license agreement" will appear. Read it and click the "Yes" button.
- If the "Install Now" item isn't checked, check it. Then, click the "OK" button.
- Windows Media Player Setup Configuration Utility box will appear, saying "Windows Media Player Setup has completed". Click the "OK" button.
- Your Web browser will now open up to a sample page from windowsmedia.com. Close it by clicking the "X" in the upper-right corner.
- You are now done.
- Proceed to the Windows Media Player page to begin watching.
Windows 98, Windows 2000, Windows ME Users
You will be installing Windows Media Player 7.1, which is Windows Media Player for users with Windows 98, Windows 98SE, Windows 2000, or Windows ME.
Recommended System Requirements
- Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows 2000, or Windows Millennium Edition
- Pentium or AMD Athlon K6 266 MHz processor or faster
- 64 Megabytes of RAM or more
- 24-bit true color video card
- 56k modem, DSL, or cable modem

Installation
- Visit the Windows Media Player 7.1 download site.
- Click on the "Download Now" button.
- If you are using Internet Explorer...
- A "File Download" box will appear.
- click on the "Save" button.
- Using the "Save in" selector, pick your hard drive ("C:") by clicking on it.
- Then double-click on a temporary directory, like "Temp", to select it.
- Click on the "Save" button and wait for the software to download.
- Click on the "Open" button when the software is done downloading.
- If you are using Netscape...
- A "Save As..." box will appear.

- Then double-click on the temporary directory you saved to (such as "Temp") to select it.
- Double-click on the "mp71.exe" file.
- click on the "OK" button.
- A "Windows Media Player 7.1 Setup" box will appear, prompting you to exit all other applications before continuing. It's a good idea to print out this sheet, then close out any other open programs you might have. Then, click the "Yes" button.
- An end user license agreement will appear. Read it, then click the "Yes" button to continue.
- A "Windows Media Component Setup" box will appear. Click the "Next" button.
- A Windows Media Player Privacy Statement" will appear. Read it, check the box that says "I have read the Privacy Statement," and click the "Next" button.
- A box reading "The following components will be installed" will appear. Click the "Next" button.
- A box reading "You can customize your Windows Media Player installation ..." will appear.
- Click the "Next" button
- A box reading "Windows Media Setup is now ready to install" will appear. Click the "Next" button.
- Windows Media Player will now install.
- A box reading "Setup has completed. The computer must be started now." will appear. Click the "Finish" button. Your computer will restart.
- After the restart, you are now done.
- Proceed to the Windows Media Player page to begin watching.
Windows XP Users
Windows XP comes with Windows Media Player 8.0. As it is pre-installed, you need not do anything else. You may opt to upgrade to Windows Media Player 9.0, however.
Macintosh OS X version 10.1 Users
You will be installing Windows Media Player for Mac OS X, the most current version of Windows Media Player for users with Macintosh OS X version 10.1.
Recommended System Requirements
- Apple Mac OS version 10.1
- Any computer supported by Mac OS X version 10.1.5 or later with a processor 450 megahertz (MHz) PowerPC G3 or higher recommended
- 128 Megabytes of RAM or more
- 10 MB of free hard disk space
- Monitor color depth of 256 colors (Millions of colors recommended)
- Sound card and speakers
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.1 for Mac, America Online for Mac OS X, Netscape 7.1, MSN for Mac OS X version 2.0, or Apple Safari 1.0
Installation
- Uninstall previous version of Windows Media Player from your system.
- Visit the Windows Media Player for OS X download site.
- Click the "Download Now" button.
- The Download Manager will now download the Windows Media Installer to your Desktop (or default download location).
- Double-click on the the "Windows Media Installer" icon on your Desktop.
- A "Windows Media Player" box will open. Click on the "Continue" button.
- A "Microsoft Windows Media Player for Mac OS X END-USER LICENSE AGREEMENT" will appear. Click on the "Accept" button.
- A privacy statement will appear. Click on the "Continue" button.
- A "Windows Media Installer" box will appear. Click on the "Install" button.
- The box will now say "Installing." Allow it to complete.
- After "Finishing installation ..." appears, you will see the message "Installation was successful. If you are finished, click Quit to leave the Installer ..." Click on the "Quit" button.
- Quit and relaunch your browser.
- You are now done.
- Proceed to the Windows Media Player page to begin watching.
Macintosh OS 8.1 to 9.x Users
You will be installing Windows Media Player 7.1, the most current version of Windows Media Player for users with Macintosh OS 8.1 to 9.x.

Visit the download site for Windows Media Player 7.1 for Mac OS 8 and Mac OS 9.
Installation
- Uninstall previous versions of Windows Media Player from your system by dragging the Windows Media Player folder and the Media Player Preferences to the Trash Can on your desktop.
- Click the "Download Now" button.
- The Download Manager will now download the Windows Media Installer to your Desktop (or default download location).
- Double-click on the "Windows Media Installer" icon on your Desktop.
- A "Windows Media Player" box will open. Click on the "Continue" button.
- A License Agreement will be displayed. Click on the "Accept" button.
- A Read Me statement will appear. Click on the "Continue" button.
- A "Windows Media Installer" box will appear. Click on the "Install" button.
- A box will appear asking for permission to quit all open applications. Click on the "Continue" button.
- A box will be displayed asking for permission to search the hard drive. Click on the "OK" button.
- A Network Connection box will appear. Choose your network connection speed and proxy if necessary. Click on the "OK" button.
- The box will now say "Installing." Allow it to complete.
- After "Finishing installation ..." appears, you will see the message "Installation was successful, if you are finished, click Quit to leave the Installer ..." Click on the "Quit" button.
- Close and relaunch your Web browser.
- You are now done.
- Proceed to the Windows Media Player page to begin watching.
Solaris Users
Solaris Users are encouraged to visit the download site for Windows Media Player 6.3 for Solaris.

Installation
- Visit the Windows Media Player 9 download site.
- Click on the "Download Now" button for whichever is appropriate, "Windows Media Player 9 Series (for Windows XP)" or "Windows Media Player 9 Series (for Windows 98 SE, ME, and 2000).
- If you are using Internet Explorer...
- A "File Download" box will appear.
- click on the "Save" button.
- Using the "Save in" selector, pick your hard drive ("C:") by clicking on it.

- Double-click on the "MPSetup.exe" file, or "MPSetupXP.exe" (for Windows XP users).

- A "Windows Media Player 9 Series" box will display "Thank you for choosing Windows Media Player 9 Series." Click on the "I Accept" button.
- The Windows Media Player 9 Series box will display "Installing..." Allow it to install.
- The Windows Media Player 9 Series box will close, then reopen and say "Welcome to Windows Media Player 9 Series." Click on the "Next >" button.
- The Windows Media Player 9 Series box will read "Select Your Privacy OPtions." Click on the "Next >" button.
- The Windows Media Player 9 Series box will display "Customize the Installation Options." Click on the "Finish" button.
- The Windows Media 9 Series Player will now open.
- Click on the "X" in the upper righthand corner to close it.
- You are now done.
- Proceed to the Windows Media Player page to begin watching.
